WHAT IS THE CONFERENCE?
Student Power
Within the discussion of Campus Sexual Misconduct, one of the most important perspectives -- student's -- goes unheard. This conference seeks to change that. An entirely by-student-for-student conference, this will serve as an opportunity for university students around Illinois to come together, learn about new ways to combat sexual misconduct, share in a discussion of best practices, and walk away better equipped to battle sexual misconduct on their own campuses. In addition, students will have the opportunity to contribute to and sign their names on an open letter to Illinois' Government leaders, publicly claiming what we need to see in state law.

Keynote Speaker
Ann Scholhamer
Lead Organizer, Chicago Women's Marches
Ann Scholhamer counts herself as a nearly-native Chicagoan, having lived here her complete adult life. She co-chaired and served a lead organizer of the Women’s Marches in Chicago in January 2017, January 2018, and October 2018. She is humbled to work alongside strong women’s and civil rights advocacy and activist leaders to create the Women’s March Chicago NFP organization, the We March On Coalition, and serves on the board currently as Treasurer.
She sits on the board of SitStayRead, a 501(c)(3) which strives to advance children’s literacy skills using an engaging curriculum, certified dogs, and dedicated volunteers in Chicago Public Schools. She also serves as Vice President of the Bowmanville Community Organization, has served on her neighborhood Local School Council, and volunteered with International Disaster Volunteers in Haiti to establish organizational infrastructure.
On her professional time, Ann is Vice President of Brenda Borri Company, a television media consultancy, and Assistant to the Principal of Rogers Park Montessori School, a nonprofit school on the north side. Family life shaped Ann as an advocate. Her career as a volunteer began at home watching her mother Nancy teach by example. A nearly fatal accident in 2009 propelled Ann into releasing many small but life-limiting fears to now, nearly 10 years later proudly championing a life of being “Shamelessly Bold”.
Her most important title, however, is “Mom”. Her sons Billy and Foster help her laugh and cry her way through life.
